Les anticorps anti-gangliosides (glycolipides GM1, GM2, GM3, GD1a, GD1b, GQ1b) participent au diagnostic des neuropathies plutôt motrices et sensitivo-motrices. Les IgG anti GM1 sont associées au syndrome de Guillain-Barré du à Campylobacter jejuni. Les IgG anti GQ1b sont très spécifiques du syndrome de Miller Fisher. Les anticorps de classe IgM sont souvent d'origine monoclonale et sont associés à des formes chroniques.
